Maybe not buy my shitty books have my back but at least call out shit behavior when you see it. If by the longest odds imaginable I wrote a book series and it got copywrite claimed over something as small as the genre or a word in the title I would hope the community as a whole would have my back. I regret not being able to enjoy their books anymore but it’s a moral choice for me. I just refuse to support authors that actively fuck other authors over. I mean look at Rowling, chicks legitimately just, not a nice person and Harry potters image as a whole took a huge hit and isn’t near as popular as it was 5 years ago. I’m cool with separating and author from their work but don’t pretend that they havnt done something to deserve how they are perceived at this point. However in these two cases how they conduct their professional life impacts the livelihood and lives of others.
